Trip to Kansas

Every summer we make the drive to Kansas for about a week. As we've done in the past, we decided to drive through the night while the boys sleep. Apparently, Eli and Micah had different plans. They were up most of the night (from 12-3AM) and only sleeping about 45 minutes at a time after that. It was a pretty rough ride to say the least!

You couldn't tell from this picture, though! We got to Kristy's mom and dad's house (Nana and Papa) around 7AM. We ate breakfast then went outside to play! Nana had told the boys that she had swings in her backyard weeks ago on Skype. They didn't forget!

Eli and Micah also got to splash in the pool in the afternoon.
They loved how the bubbles stuck to their wet bodies!

We took a trip out to Great G'ma C's house on Tuesday with
the boys' cousin, Nevaeh. They had a great time!
(I took this picture right before Nevaeh gave Micah a kiss.)

One of the funniest nights was when Eli and Micah would run into the kitchen to hug one another, then run back into the living room laughing. They did it over and over. I wish I would have gotten it on video, but here is one of the hugs. (Eli on left; Micah on right)

One morning, Nana and Papa took the boys to feed the ducks. We all had a great time! Here, Micah is showing how to throw the bread at the nearest goose.
Even though it was very hot for a Kansas morning, we went to the park to play and even took a ride on the train. Of course Eli (here with Paul) chose to sit in the purple section.

The boys' cousins who live in Las Vegas were close by visiting their grandparents and family, so they came to see us, too! Here are Eli (in orange) and Micah with all three of their cousins!

Britton and Micah had a great time on the swings.

Here are the four Cheney cousins playing a game of checkers.
Okay, they were stacking up the checkers and knocking them
down, but at least everyone knew the rules!

We also went to the zoo and fed ducks, fish, and this sheep and goat.

During our tour of the rain forest, the flamingos let us get very close! Eli and Micah were so excited and wanted to touch this one, but the flamingo wasn't thrilled with that idea.

So, you've seen many pictures of our fun week with Nana and Papa, but what does it sound like in Nana and Papa's house when twin toddlers take over?
