17 months and TALKING!

How is it possible that Eli and Micah are already 17 months old?! They have grown up a lot in the past couple of months. Every week, they learn a new gesture or word to say. They are communicating so much with us right now.

They regularly sign the words: more, please, thank you, all done, milk, and cold.

They know the animal noises or actions for fish, rabbit, elephant, cat, dog, monkey, cow, duck, sheep, rooster, lion, and peacock.

They know most of their body parts including: head/hair, ears, eyes, nose, mouth, tongue, teeth, arm, hand, tummy, leg, knee, foot and toes.

They also talk all day long! The one word we hear most often from both boys is "yup." It's the most common response to almost any question. Eli and Micah both say Dada (Eli's first word), duck (Micah's first word), light, up, ball, book, bye-bye, Mama, hot, hat, all done, step, truck, stop, stick, Buddy, bark, car, Papa, help, buta (as in butterfly), and bus. Micah also says, "hello!" but only when he's playing with his toy phone. Eli also says dump truck, tractor, Nana, octa (as in octagon--the shape of a stop sign!) and papadoo (as in peek-a-boo). He even said his first sentence this week, "Bye bye Dada."

They still love music and dancing. Their favorite songs include: "If You're Happy and You Know It," "The Itsy Bitsy Spider," and "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes."
