What a fun week we had! Eli (in yellow) and Micah (in red) helped me decorate the sugar cookie cake we made for Paul. They loved every second of the decorating and sampling!
We have been growing sweet potatoes all summer. Here are the boys showing me the sweet potato peeking up through the dirt. This was right before they helped me dig them up!
It wasn't quite the crop I was expecting, but we ate them anyway!
We went to G'ma and G'pa Cheney's house for Thanksgiving. They gave Eli and Micah play power tools as a thanks for taking such good care of Maybe while they were gone. The tools are by far the favorite toy in the house right now!
Look what Micah discovered he could do at G'ma's house!
(Sorry about the outfit. They wanted to be naked, which was fine while we were inside. When they wanted to go outside, I required shoes. I wasn't planning on taking pictures!)
Eli (left) and Micah (right) even played a little football on Thanksgiving! What a fun day!
We spent Friday and Saturday mornings decorating for Christmas. Micah (in red) and Eli (in brown) love seeing the Christmas lights and had a fun time putting the ornaments on the tree--and taking them off again! The tree gets re-decorated almost every day!
Preparing for Christmas is always fun for me. It is especially fun this year as I get to share our Christmas traditions, stories, and songs with Eli and Micah. I got their toy nativity set out a few weeks ago and we've talked about all of the pieces. We have read a few Christmas books from the library and we've been singing Christmas hymns each night before the kids go to bed. Today, I was cleaning up breakfast when I heard Eli and Micah singing "Away in a Manger" while they were playing with their nativity. It was a sweet reminder of how much they are learning every day!
