A few days before the chicks were scheduled to hatch, we went to Concordia to take the eggs off the turner.
A few days later, we got word the chicks were hatching! When we went to see them, Mrs. S. let Micah hold this chick.
Mrs. S. helped Eli hold this one.
It was so fun to see the chicks that we went a second time and took a friend with us. Mrs. S. let Micah hold this yellow chick all by himself. He was really good and gentle with it until it pooped on him. That was the end of holding the chicks for Eli and Micah.
Even after the pooping incident, Eli and Micah were still very curious about the chicks and enjoyed watching them eat and explore--at a safe distance. ;-)
I didn't think anything could be more exciting to Eli and Micah than seeing the chicks at Daddy's school, but I was very wrong. Paul invited Eli and Micah to join his softball players for practice one afternoon. It was hilarious to see Eli (in red) and Micah (in blue) hit the ball then run the bases. They were exhausted after such hard work!
