4th Birthday!

My sweet little babies are now sweet, active little boys! It's hard to believe how fast these 4 years have gone by!

We actually had several celebrations for Eli and Micah. I wanted an excuse to make them a fun cake, so I asked our small group if I could do it for them. They were so kind to say yes and even brought gifts for the boys. Below is the Magic School Bus cake Paul and I made. Paul had a great idea for putting the characters in the bus, so he created those for me. I baked and assembled the rest of it.

Since we were doing a Magic School Bus birthday cake, we thought we could do school bus treats for school! Here Eli and Micah are watching me get the eyes ready.

Here's the finished product--complete with Mrs. Frizzle driving and Liz (the green mini m&m) next to her! :-)

When I asked Eli and Micah where they wanted to go for their birthday dinner, they chose "the pizza place." They love it more for the games than the food, but that's okay. We met Grandma,  Grandpa and our sweet friends, Maddie and Morgan, there.
Here's Micah at one of his favorite games.
Eli really liked the race car this time.
Morgan, Micah and Maddie all checking their pockets for more tickets.

 The kids!

Since Eli and Micah keep taking my camera, Paul and I decided to give them kid-friendly cameras of their own for their birthday. They both took them in the car on the way to school and Eli even took his in to show his teacher! They were really excited.
Eli and Micah have taken pictures of lots of things--Joshua, toys, Momma, Nana on the computer, buildings outside the car window, etc--but my favorite of this first group of pictures is this one.

Happy Birthday, Eli and Micah. Momma and Daddy are so glad you made us parents. We have learned and grown a lot because of you. We are more loving, more patient, more sentimental, and laugh more because of the two of you. You keep us busy with your excited activity, constant pretend play, and thoughtful questions. You two certainly are the loudest people we know, but we are so thankful for your voices that laugh, play, pray and sing praise. It is a joy to be watching the two of you grow in every way. We pray for you daily and ask God to guard and protect you as you become men of God! We love you! --Momma and Daddy
