Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!

Lately Eli and Micah have loved reading three Dr. Seuss books over and over--Green Eggs and Ham, My Many Colored Days (which was actually written by his widow, I think), and I'm Not Going to Get Up Today! I thought it only appropriate, then, to celebrate their current favorite author on his big day.

We made collages last week based on My Many Colored Days. Over the course of three days we colored, painted, and assembled these posters. Eli and Micah had a great time and are so proud of their work!

Eli loves green eggs and requests them often!
I make mine with spinach puree. They've been eating green eggs since they first had scrambled eggs. They often won't eat the "yellow eggs" at restaurants because they want them green!

 Micah likes green eggs, too!

They are so proud of their "Cat in the Hat" hats!
So...what did you do to celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday?

Very cute! We were in charge of chapel this week so between practices for that and getting ready for our Lutheran Schools Week international fair next week, we didn't have time for Dr. Seuss this year! Next year I will choose my chapel week with a little more thought!
