This week, I have marveled at how Eli and Micah think and what they say. I wanted to get some of this recorded because I know it will quickly change! Just the other night, Paul and I were remembering how Eli and Micah used to say, "Aye-is?" (What's this?) to almost everything they saw. Now, they ask it correctly and more often ask, "What do you have?" or "What are you having?"
So here are a few of my favorite words/phrases:
Cimmony (Cinnamon)
Cimmony (Cinnamon)
"I'm doing my best!"
"I'm so proud of you!"
"I love you!" (They now say this to us and each other spontaneously!)
My-s as in, "That's not yours, it's my-s." or "Is this my-s?"
"That's so helpful!"
"8, 9, 10, beleven, 13, 17, 20!"
"8, 9, 10, beleven, 13, 17, 20!"
And...it's not my favorite, but they say it almost every meal: "No, I don't like it. It's yucky."
Besides listening to their speech develop, I have also noticed them doing more pretend play. For example, the other day Eli was eating toast. He took a few bites, looked at it and said, "It's a train!" He took another bite, then said, "It's a bulldozer!" This went on and the toast became a crane and Rolly (from Bob the Builder). Eli finally said, "I'm going to eat Rolly all gone!" And he did.
Since it's better to hear them talking rather than me tell you about it, here they are. (Sorry about Eli in his underwear. Many days he chooses not to wear pants at home. It's not something I choose to fight.)
