but needed ears covered for everything else.
The next morning, we went to a local art museum with a Lego art display. The art was incredible of course!
The boys seemed impressed by all of the Lego art, but they really just wanted to touch all of the Legos! So, we went downstairs to the art lab. Eli and Micah not only built Lego structures, but they also painted, colored with chalk on the walls, and created their own stamps.
Topeka just opened a new children's discovery center. It was pretty amazing! We got to visit and explore with the boys' cousin, Nevaeh. Here were some of our favorite stations:
working on a car,
using real tools,
painting Nana,
and playing restaurant.
Months before we left for Kansas, I saw an advertisement for a train-themed restaurant. The train even delivers food to the table. I thought the boys would love it since they're so into Thomas the Tank Engine right now. It was an hour's drive away, but so worth it!
These hats were delivered by the train.
After breakfast, we went to Nevaeh's favorite place in Kansas City--the dinosaur store and restaurant. Nana let all three kids build their own dinos!
(Micah in front watching his T-Rex be stuffed. Eli in back giving his Triceratops a bath.)
Our last day in town was Nana's birthday. She got to spend it with all of her grandkids!
Micah, Eli, Nevaeh, & Amory
Eli and Micah enjoyed reading stories with Great-Gma C.
The boys even warmed up to their baby cousin, Amory.
We had a great vacation and spent time with lots of family, but after two weeks on the road, we were all ready to get back home. We had a long 8 hour drive the first day, but the boys did great! I had wrapped some presents for the drive home, but these pinwheels were by far the favorite! They quickly discovered the air vents could spin the "spinwheels" as Eli called them.
