Doctor Visits

We have had a lot of visits to the doctor lately!
Let me start with Buddy. He had to have surgery last week to remove part of one toe since the nail on that toe was rubbing against the next one causing a constant abrasion that couldn't heal. Buddy was obviously in a lot of pain before and after the surgery. Here he is with his foot all wrapped up post-surgery.

Buddy's vet really thought he'd have a quick and easy recovery. Ha! Nothing is quick or easy with Buddy when it involves the vet. After 3 visits to the vet in one week, Paul built us this handy ramp. Now I don't have to lift Buddy in and out of the car!

Finally, 10 days post-surgery, Buddy has been sentenced to the cone of shame. Doesn't he look sad? Hopefully this will keep him from licking his paw and allow it to heal quickly! (The boys love this cone on Buddy and keep calling him "Angel Buddy.")

Eli and Micah had their 3-year old check-ups this week. They were nervous about going, but were very brave and cooperative once we got there. They were also pretty talkative to their doctor, which she was pleased to hear! Eli and Micah are both 38 inches tall (60th percentile) and weigh 32 and 31 lbs, respectively (40th percentile). The doctor wasn't much fun for them this week, but they did enjoy their homemade chocolate popsicles. (Eli, left and Micah, right)

And they were THRILLED to meet Bob the Tomato and Larry the Cucumber at Chick-fil-A!

(Okay, Micah wasn't comfortable at first.)

Eli ran up to Bob and Larry to give them both high fives as soon as we walked in the door.

After dinner, Micah warmed up enough to give Larry a hug before we left!

I also had two doctor's visits this week. Monday's wasn't planned, but was necessary according to my doctor. On Sunday night I had what they think was an ocular migraine. Apparently it was a result of the pregnancy since I don't have a history of migraines. They checked my blood pressure and everything was fine.

Today (Friday) I had my 28-week glucose test. I don't have the results from the blood work yet, but everything seemed fine and my blood pressure was even lower today than it was on Monday. I asked my doctor today when he normally schedules repeat c-sections and if it was too early to put it on the calendar now. He said it wasn't too early, so we have it scheduled for December 1. I even went over to the hospital to fill out all of the paperwork so I could be on the hospital's schedule too. Now, it looks like all we have to do is wait for this little guy to grow!
