Wedding Weekend

Kristy's "baby" brother got married the last weekend of September. We made a "quick" trip to Kansas and back in four days...with three kids. It was a busy weekend, but we had a great time and are so excited to welcome Aunt Roxy to the family!

Our first stop was a whopping 90 minutes from home (tells you the pace we were able to travel with the boys). We had never explored the Sam Houston statue before, so it was a fun experience for all of us.

Behind the statue, we found Sam's face.

Kristy and the boys with "Big Sam."

The next day, we found this little duck pond near where we stopped for lunch. Micah was more than willing to share his leftovers with the ducks. ;-)

We finally pulled into Topeka just one hour before the rehearsal dinner. Since dinner was in the carousel house, we got to ride the carousel many times!

All the kids were at Nana's house the morning of the wedding. The big kids spent a lot of time reading,
 while the little ones played.
We got everyone all dressed for the wedding. Nana let the big kids play with her phone to keep them occupied and clean before actually leaving for the wedding.

Walking over to the park to meet Uncle Taylor.
One last pep talk from Uncle Taylor before the boys had to do their job as ring bearers.

They did it! I was so proud of them!

They were even cooperative for group pictures!

One last carousel ride before heading home for naps.

The boys didn't want to wear their full tuxes at the rehearsal, but Micah did want to wear his vest. Here he is looking at the groom's cake saying, "Now, why does this cake look like a tire?"
Here are Nevaeh, Eli and Micah having fun on the dance floor.

The next morning, we were back on the road and heading home. We stopped at this lake in OK and hiked a little.  It is really fun to find all the parks and nature trails we've never stopped at before. Now, we have some favorites that we look forward to stopping at again on future trips!

Congratulations, Taylor and Roxy. We are excited for the both of you and your new life together. Thanks for letting us share your day with you!
